About Us
We’re Paige and Matt, a duo fueled by a love for the outdoors and a passion for adventure. I (Paige) am a graphic designer who thrives on creativity, while Matt, a former outdoor survival instructor, brings his skills and love for nature to every journey. Together, we explore new places in our Contest 40S, Constantia, and Lancer, the German wire-haired pointer.

From hiking up mountains to plunging into icy waters for a wild swim, we live for those moments that connect us with nature. Through our blog, we share the highs, lows, and everything in between—giving you a glimpse of our travels, favourite spots, and tips we’ve picked up along the way. We’re excited to take you along on our adventures, whether you’re planning your own trips or just love hearing stories from the sea!

The adventure so far...
Our adventure started back in 2017, when we decided to sell up and sail the world. I know—right? A big leap! We were both working 9 to 5 jobs and neither of us was happy. Coming home from long days just to eat dinner, go to bed, and start all over again felt like we were wasting away. So we decided—let’s just go for it!

Our first boat was a Contest 41 called Nova, which we bought in Scotland. We moved everything we had left onto her and, after a little bit of work, we set sail around Scotland. Nova took us all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, around the Caribbean, and back—where we then bought Morna.
Morna was our dream boat: a wooden gaff ketch built in 1920 in Tarbert, Scotland. She was rich in history and looked just as beautiful as she sailed, which was fantastic. We managed to sail around Scotland again, and then Covid hit.
What happened to morna?
We decided the interior needed a refit, as she had been left with a mix of modern and original features—and everything in between. Unfortunately, once we began removing the internals, we discovered that parts of her structure needed serious attention. We made the decision to lift her from the water.

What was supposed to be a three-week job turned into three months, as Covid restrictions meant we couldn’t access the marina to continue the work. Once she had dried out, it became even more apparent that she needed a complete rebuild.

We tried to take on the work ourselves, but the more we did, the more we realised we didn’t have the funds or experience to continue. Another boat builder came to inspect her and told us we were lucky she hadn’t sunk while we were sailing—apparently, the only thing keeping her afloat was the copper plating holding her together.

It was with heavy hearts that we let Morna go to a capable boat builder, who removed her entire hull for a full rebuild, leaving only her new decks and mast intact.

After losing Morna, we stepped away from sailing for a while and travelled Europe in our overlander, Daphne. But the sea kept calling to us, and we both missed the freedom of sailing.

Which brings us to today—where we now sit aboard Constantia, a Contest 40S, as we begin a brand new adventure…
